Dog in Garden

Get Gardening

While you garden or landscape, your pets can keep you company, as long as they have a space to escape the heat. Try setting up a play yard or pet house to provide shade for your four-legged friends—you can even build an old-fashioned fort using some old sheets and furniture. As long as you and your pet are comfortable, you can complete your yard work while they lounge in the sun.

Dog Swimming in Pool

Go for a Swim

Going for a dip is a perfect way to cool off for humans and pets alike! Some community pools host pet-friendly swim days for our four-legged friends to cool off in a safe area, as well as socialize with the neighborhood dogs and cats. You can also get a kiddy pool for the yard, so your pet can enjoy the cool water while you soak up some rays at home. Remember to always keep a close eye on your pet while they’re in the water!

Woman and Dog on Hike

Take a Hike

Exploring anything from a mountain trail to your neighborhood sidewalk is a perfect way to enjoy the outdoors and stay active. A morning adventure or evening stroll is a perfect way to work in some healthy exercise for you and your four-legged friends. Just make sure you’re not spending too much time outside during the heat of the day, and remember to keep your pets well hydrated!

Dog on Grass with Frozen Treat

Cool Off with a Tasty Treat

Sometimes the best way to beat the heat is just relaxing with a cool treat. For our pets, that can be a cold drink of Primal Goat Milk or Bone Broth while you enjoy a glass of lemonade or iced tea. You can also treat them to pet-friendly versions of summer favorites like ice cream and popsicles!

You and your pet have plenty of ways to embrace the warmer months ahead—just make sure to supervise them during hotter days and make sure they stay happy, healthy, and hydrated. With these tips, you and your four-legged friends can beat the heat and make the most of your summer adventures together!
