    Too hard!!

    My cat has been eating and loving the freeze dried venison nuggets for a long time (due to food allergies),and I just ordered another bag recently. The nuggets were impossible to break by hand, and even with a knife, were difficult. When I gave them to my cat he refused to eat them. I'm very dissatisfied with this new formula (as is my cat). Please bring back the old formula!!

    ROCK HARD

    Nuggets are ROCK HARD. It hurts to crumble them. Don't feel comfortable feeding to my cats. Primal is aware of this issue, spoke to them many times and still not resolved. My cats have allergies and Venison is one of the proteins they can eat safely - this quality control issue is a HUGE letdown. Will be searching for another brand.

    Awful texture

    I'd been feeding my cat the frozen venison so I thought I'd try the freeze dried version. Not the same at all. After trying to rehydrate for more than 48 hours it was like wet cardboard. My cat wouldn't touch it and now Primal won't stand behind their products and refund me my entire amount. READ their return policy CAREFULLLY!! I'll never even buy their frozen anymore because of this.

    Needs a jackhammer to break apart!

    My cats do like eating it, but it is like cement and practically needs a hammer to break apart the nuggets! Normally with Primal freeze dried Raw nuggets of other flavors, we break the nugget in half and squeeze it in a sturdy garlic press (used only for this purpose), and then can easily crumble it by hand. BUT with VENISON nuggets, we cannot do that! We have to cover it with a paper towel, and on a non-breakable surface BASH at it with a HAMMER to break apart the nuggets! And over the past couple of years, the nuggets have only gotten harder! And then when we do break some open, we sometimes find they're defective - discolored in the middle, like the freeze-drying process didn't work right, so we cannot risk feeding those nuggets to our cats. I noticed that only the favorable reviews get answered here, which is sad. So we have decided after 4 years of buying this flavor and observing it getting more and more problematic, that we cannot continue buying the Venison. And sadly, there's a higher rate of defects in the Rabbit and Pork nuggets that we've also bought that have gone downhill over the past few years. We really don't want to have to switch to a different brand, but other attempts to communicate with the company in past got crickets.

    Cat goes bananas over it

    My cat loves this stuff. We just switched from 100% kibble, to one of these nuggets twice a day plus kibble. She's particular with food and usually transitions are hard, but not this time because she's always eager to eat it. If I could afford to feed her this stuff only I absolutely would! Since starting primal raw nuggets, her fur is softer and her anxiety has decreased.
